Age for Obtaining a Tractor Trailer License

Upon successful completion of the course, the student should receive:

  • A Class 1E or Class 3E License (Tractor Trailer or Straight Truck with Air Brake Endorsement)
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate

  • Air Brake Certificate (Entitles Driver to Inspect, Adjust and/or Maintain Commercial Vehicle Air Brakes
  • Substance Abuse Awareness Card
  • Road Test Certificate
  • Defensive Driving Certificate
  • Certificate of Completion

We offer 6 and 12 week courses for Tractor Trailer (Class 1E) plus a Straight Truck course (Class 3E) which consists of 6 weeks of training, Monday to Thursday. 

School Location:

Scoudouc - located just outside of Moncton, NB (near Shediac)

During Tractor Trailer Training and Straight Truck Programs all students will receive theoretical training in: Transportation of Dangerous Goods. Hours of Service, Air Brakes, Rules of the Road, Engine Operation, Transmission and Clutches, Drivers Attitude, Defensive Driving, Substance Abuse Awareness and Prevention, U.S. Rules and Regulations Including I.C.C. Training and Testing.

The student will also receive practical training in: Pre-trip, Coupling, Uncoupling, Close Maneuvers, Vehicle Maintenance, Rural Driving and Night Driving.

6-Week Program (Class 1E/Class 3E): Students will receive theoretical and practical training as outlined above.

12 - Week Program (Class 1E): We offer two 12- Week programs. The first includes the content of the 6- week program plus an additional 6 weeks work experience. The second is a 12 week Internship program which consists of 8-weeks of classroom and 4-weeks of Supervised Work Experience under the guidance of a Coach Driver.

Funding: Funding may be available for qualifying students. Please contact the school for information.

Student Protection Fee: all students will be required to pay a student protection fee calculated as 1% of the total tuition fee of the course - to be collected on the first day of the course and submitted to the Training Completion Fund by the school. The Training Completion Fund will be used to complete training in the event a private occupational training organization fails to provide purchased training.
