Truck Training

Upon successful completion of the course, the student should receive:

  • A Class 1E License (Tractor Trailer with Air Brake Endorsement)
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate
  • Air Brake Certificate (Entitles Driver to Inspect, Adjust and/or Maintain Commercial Vehicle Air Brakes)

  • Certificate of Completion

Our Course consists of six weeks of training, Monday to Thursday (Full-time).

During the 6-week period, the student will receive theoretical training in: Transportation of Dangerous Goods. Hours of Service, Air Brakes, Rules of the Road, Engine Operation, Transmission and Clutches, Drivers Attitude, Defensive Driving, Substance Abuse Awareness and Prevention, U.S. Rules and Regulations.

The student will also receive practical training in: Pre-trip, Coupling, Uncoupling, Close Maneuvers, Vehicle Maintenance, Rural Driving and Night Driving.

Funding: Funding may be available for qualifying students. Please contact the school for information.

The school will provide you with books and materials.

Student Protection Fee: all students will be required to pay a student protection fee calculated as 1% of the total tuition fee of the course - to be collected on the first day of the course and submitted to the Training Completion Fund by the school. The Training Completion Fund will be used to complete training in the event a private occupational training organization fails to provide purchased training.

CLOTHING: Some items that you will need to bring with you to the course:

  1. Coveralls and Gloves may be needed to participate in the maintenance program.
  2. Rain Suit, Wet Weather Gear or Winter Clothing may be necessary as part of your training will be performed in the outdoors, rain or shine.
  3. Work Shirt, Work Pants, Work Boots are the most suitable items of clothing to participate in our total training program. We will also accept other types of boots and work shoes and, in addition, all types of jeans. We will not accept any type of sandals, muscle shirts or clothing promoting drugs or alcohol.
